I hate myself for not getting the students’ names

05 March 2013
Prof. Datar of our Anthropology class had us trace our family tree as far and as wide as we could.
Unfortunately, I had to cram my assignment because of thesis. But hey, I mad it to five generations and a dozen other branches. That’s pretty good for someone who did it all in three days.
I had mixed emotions with this assignment. On one had, I got to see how I am really related to my relatives. You know, the people you know are related to you but can’t exactly tell how. Now I know we share a great grandmother or something
On the other hand, I failed to include my grandfather’s half-brother (because he can’t remember his name), and my adopted aunt’s myriad of lovers and kids from different fathers (because Papa doesn’t like to talk about it).
In the end, the ones that made me think of the most are the ones at the top of the tree: the great grandparents who started it all. Who are they? What did they do for a living? How was life like during their time?
I managed to document this much in three days. This makes me curious about how much I can find out if I had more time.

// I have no life right now…//

My life is thesis thesis thesis. Earlier, I overheard a freshman saying he’s so busy with acads.

I wanted to rip his head off.

They started planting sunflowers today. It made me panic.

I’m so glad the whole batch is supportive of each other. I have a lot of people to get cranky with.

- On bonobos (pygmy chimpanzees).
So humans are not the only species with same sex relations.
Anthro 1 just got more interesting. :)

The first submission has finished.
The first session with the fabulous adviser (and adviser-mate Hazel) has set the bar higher for me with this thesis madness. The expectations were lined up and the pressure is on. It’s making me feel like ohmygahdanobatongpinasokkong...
I feel excited though.
I drew a rose today.

Soooo… our approved thesis topics were released today. I was absent and I found out via phone (because I’m sick *cough cough*).

I was so dead set on designing a hospital, but the gods don’t approve.

I bought The Book of Ordinary Oracles from yesterday’s sale, and asked it if I should ask the faculty to consider my topic. The picture below is its answer.

What the F*** does that mean??? Do I ask the gods to consider my first choice? Or do I steer myself away from all things medical (as my parents are doctors)?

Divination. Meh.

Oh well. If the universe wants me to design something else then DAMMIT, I will design something else!

// Thesis it.//

There are tons of things to do, even if the term hasn’t started yet. I have to fix the super slow PC, brush up on rendering skills, visit tutorial sites, get to know my (still nonexistent) client, narrow down my nonexistent list of possible projects, think of something to bribe potential advisers, create my portfolio, get enrolled in a BIM class etc.

I’m mentally preparing myself for the upcoming stress… and the financial strain.
